don't bring up the fact that most American blacks have an ancestry that's been in this country (and before it was a country) far longer than many whites....they dont like that shyt.

Exactly, how many times have you heard cacs say that their ancestors came here after slavery ended? Some of them say that shyt as a lie to excuse their ancestors from benefiting from or supporting slavery. Its funny how some of the cacs I work with also own land, ranches, and farms all over Texas yet they didn't get here until after the civil war

What irks me is, why does the people of European ancestry get all these sub-groups (French, German... etc) but yet black folks are just lumped into one. Africa isn't one big ass country you know

Breh, African history is so generalized to the rest of the world. In school we are taught only a few things about Africa, primarly slavery and a white-washed version of ancient Egypt. But we learn about Roman, Greek, Germanic, Anglo-Saxon, Russian, Spanish, and French history. Many people still believe that Africa is a country. But cacs can trace their ancestry to a specific part of Europe while African-Americans can't unfortunately hence the classification of African-American.
