Being excluded from all levels of labor harms blacks. And college is no magic bullet for blacks. Too many of us end up with tons of debt and either don't finish or can't get hired in the field we studied in. College Degrees has not translated into greater wealth for blacks.

Just a very elitist view point to think we all will get white collar jobs and manual labor should be beneath us. Too many unemployed or under-employed brothers, nevermind the brothers with records.
They dont even care.

This is why i go so hard on this issue.

Theres illegals ALL UP AND DOWN in white collar jobs!

Successful immigrants are largely more educated. :comeon:

The increase in median immigrant income can be correlated with the decrease in illegal immigrants. :unimpressed:

So in other words we should just allow highly educated immigrants coming off school visas and h1-b stay while deporting low skill low education illegals
This sounds familiar :dwillhuh: tell me more :troll:

another thread that displays the hypocrisy, inconsistency, and selective kinship of identity politics. The sooner you abandon it, the weaker self serving manipulators become

-stop claiming to be about Black community while being an elitist talmbowt Black economics. With life being unfair and unpredictable, all types of jobs are a necessity in a capitalist society
-worrying/discrediting/distancing yourself from sources who are speaking/reporting facts about your interest/community is counterproductive, self serving, and doesn't reflect your claims of urgency/danger living under white supremacy

Ana is cool, but just like anyone with an agenda, she'll at times misrepresent a point so to regurgitate a cookie cutter response
Reparations discussion has already established that it's owed, the country can afford to pay, and any efforts to deflect/delay/waterdown it's disbursement is solely due to the acceptance/comfort of Black folks struggling

Black youth unemployment is sky high in urban areas and you dont even want us to have THAT

you DONT care about black labor
Black kids shouldn't have to work so their family can make their ends meet.

Raising the min wage to living wage would solve this problem for millions of black folks though.

This is contradictory to the successful immigrant narrative tho :sas1:
Which one is it. How are these jobs too shytty for blacks living in poverty but at the same time vital for illegals to build a new life here in America.
Someone just posted an article about immigrants breaking home owner records so obviously these jobs are stepping stones to someone building wealth
most successful immigrants in america are coming to america legally with some skills or education from their native land. if they end up in a crap min wage job in america (a legal job btw) it's temporary because they have a baseline of skills that will allow them to rise.

Either you put the wrong-time stamp on there, or you're completely warping what she said to match Anne Coulter's allusion toward the increasing Latino prevalence in Black-American neighborhoods as the problem as opposed to a symptom of the problem.

This!!!

When blacks moved into white neighborhoods, whites moved out..

Do you think the same would happen in black neighborhoods, with latinos moving in?

:mjlol:

Her argument has nothing to do with reparations. Just pointing out that white supremacist have distracted a lot of yall into fighting with Mexicans over low skilled jobs with no upward mobility as though it's a noble cause that's going to increase the position of black labor in this country.

I agree.

I can't speak to anywhere else, but in the Chicagoland area, mexicans RUN the warehousing industry..

From the supervisor to the cleaning lady..

Oh... And they run the McDonald's too..

So why are the illegals coming here if not to successfully build new lives :dwillhuh:
The remittance numbers wouldn’t be booming like they are if these low level entry level jobs weren’t having positive impact to their communities
Cut the bullshyt and admit these jobs CAN be beneficial and are better stepping stones than alternatives like say....hustling on the block
Which many young black resort to when they can’t get the entry level shyt

Some are illegal. Some are not. There's plenty of entry level work. But agencies, companies have chosen not to hire black folks.

This is what happens when you're in the underclass in a capitalist country with very little protection for labor.

And those workers aren't doing well nor are they experiencing upword mobility like that.

and WHY are those jobs below living wage? :sas1:
Because wages are down across almost every job in America. If you look at the stats, productivity and profits are at record highs while wages stay stagnant. Blaming low wages on illegal immigrants is ignoring the actual reason wages are low. Workers aren't organized

Wrong.

Illegals don't pay a mulitude of taxes, affecting billions in revenue, and drag down wages of citizen workers who are more deserving of those opportunities.

Entire black labor unions have been gutted.

Who speaks for them?
