It's not though. PC is not a competitor at all to Sony. You are helping a direct competitor with your exclusive games.
If they don't view the PC as a competitor why then do they not release their games on it day 1? Microsoft is the one that doesn't view the PC as a competitor which is why the games are available there day 1.

It's the exact same logic applied somewhere else. Export some of our old games to another platform to see if we can make more money and expand the audience.

shyt don’t matter to me breh seriously. Some of yall dudes really die hard for a plastic box. Money has to be made point blank period. Sony will eventually do the same shyt sooner or later.

I am young enough to remember that when Xbox bought Activision, PS would die because Xbox would have all the games, now it's "money to be made" :mjlol:

The spinning that goes on on this forum is nuts

The same reason Rockstar doesnt release their games on PC day 1. They want ppl to double dip. Sony also wants to incentivize ppl to get a PS console.
Microsoft's relationship with PC in regards to games is different, they are trying to push gamepass heavy, which is why the do day and date with pc.
Guarantee you if MS were happy wiht their hardware numbers, they would never consider releasing on PS5/Switch.

So again, you trying to bring up the Sony -> PC as a comparison is a trash example. Microsoft and Sony are direct competitors fighting for the same consumers in selling consoles.

Phil Spencer specifically said that they weren't competing with Sony, they were competing with Apple and Google. And I think unsaid in that is that they're competing with Steam and Epic. Why? They want to challenge the big tech companies for delivering their services everywhere, and that means bumping up against the current companies who dominate the gaming-on-demand space. Microsoft doesn't see "PC" as a competitor because that would be nonsense for a company that has always been in the PC space, but they are focused on other competitors in that PC space because they're at heart a PC company that happens to make consoles (for now).

Sony doesn't view PC as a competitor because they're about to have a smaller, but lucrative dedicated console space all to themselves at the high-end level. They view PC as complementary because they can scratch significant money out of a few first-party ports years after their initial burst of sales. They and Nintendo are about to carve up the dedicated console space between themselves, and while it's a growth-limited space until and unless any of those emerging markets out there can afford pricey console purchases at a higher level, it's also a space that isn't dying anytime soon and if you own a lot of it, you're in great shape.

The replies funny as hell and desperate. Til I get to the last one and I just feel sad. fukked up they put a black woman in this position. They knew what they were doing when they appointed her to that position and shyt like them releasing games on ps5/switch starts. It should be Phil holding these conferences and being the "face" of this.

I still remain absolutely astounded that people are melting down to this degree over...........*checks notes* Hi-Fi Rush. :dead:

Most of it is console wars shyt, cant use exclusives as ammo if they on the other console. Then the big thing for most that are angry is that this open the doors for bigger exclusives coming too.

You can start with online networks and achievements go down to consoles running apps, USB and wireless controllers standardized and compatible with PCs. Downloadable content, unified gamer tags across all games, cross game chat, cross game invites, an online subscription service with integrated cloud gaming, charging for online service. The list goes on and Microsoft either did all that stuff first setting the standard or pushed it further.

Sony was in the game longer than Microsoft and we all know how PS2 online was and PS3 not even launching with PSN ready while the original Xbox had Xbox Live.

You don't gotta like Microsoft to admit that stuff is true.
The list doesn't go on. What you're doing is attributing the general advances in technology to Microsoft's ingenuity, like a cum guzzling company whore.

The bold is an admission they don’t put those games on there because it would cause less people to buy their hardware. That’s a competing platform. It’s not double dipping Sony’s ideas flow through how to get you into their ecosystem.

They try to neutralize the PC by only porting old sold through games. In fact Horizon 2 was brought to PC after it was even give away at no extra charge to PS+ subs. That’s like bringing the movie to theaters, releasing it on Disney+, and then after that doing home rentals on demand. If it was about double dipping you’d extract all buyers before giving it away. If it’s about expanding ecosystem you do everything in your ecosystem before exiting it.
