Keyword here, THEY were right to do it. Not because of it's the best thing to do overall, but for THEMSELVES they had to do it because their product quite frankly wasn't attractive enough to sustain itself on their own platform. You think Nintendo is thinking of putting Smash Bros or Zelda on PC or Playstation? They only did it on mobile and even then it's just an inferior version of games that doesn't hold a candle to the real thing.

Sony puts older games on PC after some time so that it can get some new sales but the bulk of its sales were on its own platform. It's not that they may NEVER put their games on PC day 1, it's more so imo something that may happen if their game sales/console sales were to start dropping hard and then they'd have to pull a MSFT and start dropping shyt day 1 on PC.

I can bet a dollar that if MSFT was the one outselling PS5 3:1 and were hitting 20M units sold on a good chunk of their exclusives we wouldn't even have Halo or other Xbox games on PC even entertained. I don't believe for one second anyone believes MSFT were putting these games on PC out of good will or because it was some superior strategy for $$, it most likely was because shyt wasn't moving like they wanted to on Xbox alone hence why they moved it to PC day 1. I can bet that IF/WHEN AAA Sony 1st party exclusives come out on PC day 1, it would also coincide with a weaker generation/sales leading up to that.
PC gaming total revenue is higher than console revenue. Mobile revenue is higher than both combined. At some point as a business you are protecting a business model that is smaller than and has less potential from growth than the business platforms you're playing keep away from.

Nintendo is not a forward thinking company they will ride the business model they pioneered until the wheels fall off.

Sony is forward thinking enough to realize they've tapped out the high end console market. They're raising prices trying to generate more revenue because of it. They will come around to viewing PC as a separate market that doesn't threaten their walled PlayStation garden in any serious way. The PC gamers who don't own a PlayStation and are willing to meet PlayStation half way on the PC platform aren't ever going to buy a PlayStation in the first place.

When they open their own Steam or Epic game store like platform where they take the cut on games sold there better believe they'll put their games there as well day 1.

All you can do is speak in hypotheticals because you value being a contrarian more than the truth :mjlol:

the fact is, microsoft isn’t selling games, they ain’t selling consoles, and they ain’t selling subs, whats left? Buy another 50 billion dollar company for revenue growth for a quarter?

They are doing this out of necessity. Despite what some stans on here want you to believe Xbox needs to actually sell consoles and games to succeed. Theres no other alternative

This doesn't mean every single game on PC is selling much more than the console counterpart or at the same rate. That's like saying just because Amazon is the biggest marketplace then if you release a product there it will sell gang busters. Consumers still have to want/know about your product.

I know the answer is they are older ports for full price but again, if Sony is making a nice chunk of profit from their PS5 versions alone, then a year to three later drop on PC and get some more sales they dip their foot into the PC market without devaluing their own hardware which is what they're in the business of doing. Again, MSFT is doing this strategy because Nintendo and Sony's strategy isn't as good for THEM.
