The girl has undergone alternative-therapy treatments and is doing well, Thompson said. The family told him that she has more energy and that CT scans show the treatments are working.

Thompson, who leads the libertarian 1851 Center for Constitutional Law in Ohio, said he believes that the case is an example of the courts trampling on the rights of parents and freedom to refuse medical treatment.
Interesting

Aren't there laws for putting the child in danger by refusing treatment?
:dwillhuh: I'm pretty sure that was the point of the article....

I really like the libertarian stance on subjects like this.

Ok so she might survive the treatment but the cancer might kill her and her family will have to sell their farm. I guess it wasn't worth it to them.

can you read ?

she will most likely survive the cancer if she gets the treatment

what exactly are you saying ? her parents should leave her to die ?

That doesnt mean the cancer will go away. N from the sound of the article they were able to prolong her life using an alternative treatment. Chemo is joke and the Dr was trying to take the family to the cleaners. Thankfully, they found another way. :blessed:

Parents should be absolutely obligated to do everything they can to care for their child.

Including going homeless in medical bills for wack treatment. Right. The article tries to paint the parents as negligent but they probably saw a better option that would be safer for their child then Chemo, and took it. Chemo is no joke.
