It's a better fight than Timothy Bradley vs Diego Chaves that same night, and it also carries major implications for Amir Khan being that if he WINS, he finally has the victory he needs to take on Floyd.

While Khan/Alexander is not a dream match it is a bout between two name guys with, as you said, serious implications for matches down the line not the least of which being that if Khan loses or looks like shyt winning, then he can kiss his Floyd fight goodbye.
