Amid turbulent season and issues with Trae Young, Nate McMillan has strongly considered stepping down from the hawks-Shams

It's a formality at this point.

He won't be the coach much longer.

If Trae goes through another coach maybe he is not the guy.

He’s done, might as well force them to fire him to keep his money

Sometimes you have to pick a direction and just go. If it’s going to be 100% with trae may as well clear out Collins in addition to McMillan. Problem is I don’t see the need to rush and do it not like they are going to get a good coach in the middle of the season.

But I also don’t know what teams have players on the block that the hawks would feel good about finally swapping Collins for. I’m assuming they would also move capela also.

I’d rather have the hawks and the new GM do a full fleshed out plan. If McMillan has lost the locker room I got it but his replacement likely won’t have the same locker room commitment either.
There is nothing out there. At this point, just ride this wave and reevaluate everything in the offseason.

The 2023 offseason will be an interesting one for the Hawks.

The Hawks trade of Jason Terry to the Mavericks is one of the worst in Modern NBA history. :pachaha:
He wanted out of Atlanta and we needed to rebuild. He was necessary for a mildly mediocre tank job.

It wasn't that big of a deal.
