The US and Great Britain are far closer in terms of standard of living, facilities, funding etc etc
You can't use 3rd world countries as an example to squirm your way out of the undeniable facts i'm dropping.
Hardly fair considering we're good enough to put 2 football teams together to compete at the games.
If anything it skews it in the USA's favour.
After all, according to coli posters, the US produces the greatest athletes on the planet. Genetic freaks they are. Must be the fast food.

Because its a stupid bet. Assuming the UK takes home around 50 medals the US would have to take home 250+ when we took home just over 100 the last olympics. Cuba's population is only 11 million but they took home half as many medals as the UK. Using your simple logic, that would make them a greater sporting nation then both the US and the UK.

and it makes the most sense because it is about THESE games. THESE athletes. And the US will be sending more athletes to the games than Great Britain will. In 2008, the US had 647 athletes versus the the 313 Great Britain sent.
Its the best bet. If its double again, then the US should win double the medals as team GB. The US should also win double golds, silver, and bronze.
and the winter olympics are irrelevant.
