Americans still think they are the centre of the world.Everyone knows NYC, LA and maybe Miami.
When you’re a global leader people know who you are, not the other way around.
And there is the issue. Learning is not about being forced. You gotta be a boring person if you live in a world and it never occurs to you that it might be interesting to learn all you can about it.Sounds boring but ok.
Avg American isn’t going to know. Thry don’t travel there and unfortunately tv shows Africa as a desert with hungry people. I also don’t think Americans can name a city in Canada not named Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver. It's sad. Accra, Lagos, Mogadishu, Mombasa, Nairobi, Cairo, Aswan, Durban, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Addis Abbaba. Mad easy.

Carmen SanDiego PBS & Fox cartoon had your boy knowing the entire fkn globe (I’ve retained a ton too, Congress actually launched an initiative because US kids couldn’t name 3 fkn countries on a map in the 90’s )Geography is a dope knowledge to have and I am probably better than the average US citizen but I am still not where I want to be with that.
Don't ask me how...
Actually been to Marrakech, Ourzazate and a ton of other cities in the Atlas Mountains so it would’ve been easy as hell. People forget Cairo is in Africa tooKinshasa, Kampala, Algiers, Djibouti, Abidjan, Tripoli, Mombasa, Casablanca....so easy.
Yup, Libya is an easy one to remember. Nikkas say "Benghazi!!!!!" and "What about her emails!!!!" over and over but, somehow forgot that's an African city they can name
