Bales performance alone makes it a classic. I can see people not liking the last 30 minutes or so, but as a movie fan how can u not be entertained by this flick?

I agree. At least up to the point he meets everyone at the bar and attempts to talk to his lawyer. I liked that scene. But the whole breaking down in his office bit... that was...

absolutely YES :salute:

probably my all time favorite movie. every scene has something funny in it. that is a hard role to play and nail the tone like Bale did.

like someone else said, the book is really good too. to me it plays a lot more seriously than the movie though. I wouldn't mind seeing a faithful adaption of it someday but the original is an all time great comedy.

Love Bret Easton Ellis, but I feel like this is one of his lesser works, but the absolute best adaptation of the his novels to the screen. The movie kind of goes more charming sociopath to be admired then a scathing indicment of 80's excess. hedonisim, and moral decay that Ellis writes of in the book. A friend of mine constantly quotes this book, like he's Patrick Bateman, I had to tell him the dude is bisexual.

I really disliked the ending, besides that it was a great movie. Not a classic in my eyes, but very enjoyable. I can see why many would call it classic, though. :ehh:
