The documentary take on things was not what I was expecting but they handled it well in this episode. There was a level of creepiness throughout the hour that AHS hasn't been able to achieve for a few seasons now which is a good sign.
Agreed. Coven was the last season I finished.

I made it halfway through the freak show one and I never saw one ep of the hotel one.

Are either worth checking?

Both Freak Show and Hotel are seriously uneven seasons.
Both have some really cool performances in them though and I would recommend Freak Show more just for it being Jessica Lange's last go round; Twisty the Clown; Dandy Mott; Angela Bassett's extra titty; and Kathy Bates' crazy accent.

I wonder how deep this season is going to go with the Lost Colony inspiration? It is ripe material for a horror show.
And I predict that by the middle of the season the documentary show will gather the real people and the re-enactment actors at the old haunted house and all sorts of fukkery will jump off.

My question is: is cuba and paulson the reenactment actors or is it Algernon and Stevie nicks
This is what I was wondering, it had me thinking ":jbhmm:Is the twist that they will reveal is that the reenactment actors are actually Cuba Gooding, Sarah Paulson and Angela Bassett playing themselves being hired to reenact the Roanoake Nightmare but they get sucked into the fukkery?"

Watching now. Loved the first season. Hated Asylum. Every other season was just alright to me. Coven was way over hyped.

I love Jessica Lange. You was drop dead gorgeous when she was young. Even though she's old you can still see hints of it. I really enjoyed watching her. Too bad she's gone.

Glad they brought Angela Bassett in early. I am so tired of them waiting until the middle of the season.

I really like the actress who is playing the wife in the reenactment. She was amazing in Freakshow being the 2 headed girl. Honestly even the Freakshow wasn't amazing it had some of my favorite characters. Dandy was the shyt with his crazy ass.

I finished coven but it started strong and ended relatively mediocre. I made it halfway through freak too, the clown shyt was good/scary but that gay singing shyt and some of the other shyt was awful. The hotel one got way too gay and weird in my opinion. I stopped watching after a few episodes.

This season seems like it has potential, not sure I'm going to like this documentary/reenactment thing tho, it's going to lose its novelty real quick. I'd rather just get full on screen time with the heavyweights - Paulson, Bassett, Gooding jr.

Glad they seem to be turning back toward horror and suspense as opposed to the gay rape orgy cessfess that was hotel, but I won't speak so soon, I'm pretty sure ryan Murphy has plenty of fukkery up his sleeve.

The way the episode started :mjlol:

Cornball brother walking with his PAWG falls victim to the Knockout game :laff: :laff: :laff:

Was weird seeing Cuba and Paulson playing these roles after watching "People vs O.J Simpson"

Great episode to kick off the season. Horror show taking place in the rural deep south :leon: its lit!

I think I was in that part of North Carolina IRL a few years back, they film a lot of shows in and around Wilmington NC.

As a city kid this is a prime example of why I'm kinda :whoa: about ever moving to the rural south.

They did film a lot in Wilmington and they still film some. But the dumb ass governor here took away some tax incentives for studios to film here and the film jobs have been dropping. It sucks because after Iromman 3, Marvel said they wanted to keep using Wilmington. They started using Ohio instead.

There are bumper stickers allowed the city that say film=jobs.

They definitely didn't film this season here. It's way less rural here, but I'm guessing they did film it somewhere in the south.

I don't get how movies/shows keep getting made about Roanoke. Either the settlers all got killed or they moved in with Croatoan Tribe. There's nothing mysterious about that.
