Not at all. They usually only put a little bit (random character/monster/legend) in a diff season, you won't need it to follow the story. And Twisty is from freak show season 4. Edit I forgot the order.

I watched first season the season with lady Gaga and the season with the witches. The second season I thought was the mental ward, I dunno but I watched the first episode of the second season and was totally turned off into some white people put me back on to ahs and I binged watched it on netflix.

Season 3: Coven
Season 4: Freak Show
Season 5: Hotel
Season 6: Roanoke

To me I enjoyed all the seasons except Roanoke.... that season pissed me off too much
