U gotta remember though, a lot of the credits that help the rich damn near wipe out the tax bills of the poorGreat thread, I really do think that there has to be some sort of drastic change in regards to taxation and the associated loopholes and tricks that the wealthy use to avoid paying. There is only so much that people will stand for before the system eventually crashes and it all turns into chaos - I don't think that will happen any time soon but it is always a possibility.
Family w/2 kids and a house gets like 20K knocked off their taxable income for being married w/2 kids, and then on top of that $1000 in cash per kid for Obama child credit. Then on top of that if they own the house they get to write off mortgage interest, which for new homeowners is damn near the mortgage for a couple of years.
So to me, its kind of crazy how people are griping about the 1%'s taxes, when odds are very high their own taxes are very low or non existent.
