The year 3030
AMC was the shyt when I was a young jit but they refused to make upgrades and whatnot over the years (in my area) so I'm stopped caring about them long ago. However, I do still enjoy the theater experience with the modern theaters in my area so I hope they survive.

haha, that's Cinemark in my area. shyt got non recliner seats :hhh::scusthov:

That's AMC round here. No recliner seats. No dinner-to-seat options. Screen look old and dusty. Decor/design look like it's still from 1999. I be like, "bruh" :gucci:
AMC DINE-IN Block 37

This is the one I go to.

About 30 seats in each theater, big ass red leather couches that recline damn near flat, press a button and waitresses will take your order for drinks and the food is decent too.

I go there occasionally. It’s a welcomed alternative from a regular ass theater, and the central downtown location is a plus. Plus with showings being 18+ (regardless of movie) and the seatings in pairs, this shyt is date night specific.

While this whole set up is nothing new, it will be part of the wave of the future when it comes to movie houses.

Goddamn, the food actually looks bomb. Thought it was gonna be half-assed but nope. My first time seeing one of these theaters from AMC. :ohhh:

I been stopped eating at theaters so idc about pricing.

I just always ate out before/after the movie.

Nothing like a movie date with ya girl and grubbing then going watch a movie on $5 Tuesdays :wow:

I love streaming and the convenience of watching a movie from my crib but I don't want to destroy favorite past times in the process.

shyt was within a couple of blocks from my job so it was nothing for me to pull up the app to see what was about to start when leaving the gig. New job is probably a 10 minute walk.

Food is good as hell, the shrimp/steak rice bowl :banderas: And with the movie pass, you're building up rewards every time you go, so it's maybe a few dollars when you say fukk it and actually get food.

Last time I went I had about $15 in rewards, bought an entree and a milkshake, bill was maybe $6 dollars.

And depending on the weather, a red line stop is at the bottom of Block 37 so you can catch the train without going back outside.

One month of inactivity shouldn't hit them this hard. I have a feeling they been living "paycheck to paycheck" for awhile now.

Average people only go to the theaters for blockbusters and the big studios like Disney take most of the profit from the first two weeks so it's a recipe for disaster.

The AMC closest to me is like that and for the past year and a half has been building a new theater in the shopping center next door to it that was going to have the reclining seats, order at your seat menu, booze etc.

I guess that new building is going to stay half finished until it's bought by a Walmart or something. :francis:

I think they also realize when this shyt dies down, folks wont exactly be rushing into a closed in room with 300 ppl to watch some bullshyt movie with 10 dollar popcorn. Life after corona is uncharted territory.

Exactly. Not only do they have big hulking empty buildings they are going to be making no money or insufficient money for atleast the rest of the calendar year.

They had a good run but it’s over. Time to embrace the next phase of entertainment.
