Lets be real, the family went downstairs after the verdict and were probably crying and pissed to no end. Botham's brother would have given the same response even if AG got 50 years. He was gonna say whatever he said regardless of the sentence.

I suspect they're angling for something else....lawsuit, firing that racist azz police union chief Mata among other things. I don't think they really "forgive" her as much as they're saying but I also think their image as a family is tied into being righteous, Christian people. They'll say what they think needs to be said. Truthfully, they probably weren't even sure she'd get convicted in the first place.

All these people talking about "c00ns"...........let's not forget that we've had brehs get killed ON CAMERA (LA, NYC, Minneapolis etc) and the cop didn't serve a day in jail. We have a long way to go. This shyt is a grind. However two cops have actually been sent to prison for killing blacks in DFW within the past year. The progress is too damn slow but we are moving. If the Jean's can push for actual change within the department and enact shyt that is long lasting, I can't hate on them for that. We shall see .

As for Tariq, rather than focusing on the judge or the Jean family, maybe he should keep his heat on racist cops and police unions. The family didn't convict or sentence and neither did the judge.

I'd bet good money that the five black jurors pushed for murder but the non-black jurors wanted manslaughter. They probably compromised on murder but with a little bit lighter sentence. Since Jordan Edwards' killer got 15 years, 10 years isn't that far off tbh. As bad as AG was, Edward's killing and how the cop just blasted all up in that car was overall worse. Obviously I wish she got more time, but it probably came down to giving her manslaughter for 15 years or murder for 10...something like that. This shyt was decided yesterday. Based on what I heard today, if they actually decided based on today, they would have given her 25+. That why the sentencing was so damn quick.
