Is $2 billion on $60.billion in sales a lot of profit? I'm not.saying they shouldn't pay taxes but it's low single digit margins. This is only recently too. For years they lost money.

A couple billion on $170bn of revenue is not much. Most of the time, it is worth diving into the details rather than reacting to headlines.

Both the really poor people and really rich corporations pay little to no taxes. I prefer the really poor to have the money, because their money works its way back into the economy. The rich trickle it back into stocks, other investments and lobbyist that keep them rich.

Don't get me wrong, theyre a terrible corporate partner for government. They claim they make no profit so they dont pay taxes and are putting everyone else out of business. Blame the government for not closing loopholes. I don't blame amazon. You take as many deductions as you can on your taxes right?

Amazon paying a low effective tax rate, on their relatively low level of profit compared to the size of their business, has almost nothing to do with their market capitalization and Bezos's net worth. I'm not sure why anyone gets riled up by these click bait articles. My expectation is that they follow current tax law and adhere to their requirement to increase shareholder value. That is the purpose of a corporation and anyone expecting any different is not being realistic.So your saying it's cool they pay no taxes.

well here i am anxiously awaiting the usual suspects that are soooo pissed that their cousins baby mama's ex sister in law got back 5000 at income tax time.

The problem is they're not going after Amazon, they're going after YOU. It's a stupid move if you don't have the clout to bend the law to cover your ass. Playing games for a big tax refund is just a smash and grab. They might not catch her for 2-3 years, but they'll wait all the way up until the 7th year (deadline I think) to drop that bomb. And everybody who thought they were putting one over on the Man is going down with her.
