I thought Dr. Octopus in the first movie of the other series was cool.
The only thing standing out to me in this movie right now is the fact that Peter Parker isn't Toby, and the building jumping/swinging scenes.

I didn't see the trailer in the thread...but if it is the one were he says "oh no you found my weakness...little point knives"...then

I was really skeptical on this, but damn if this don't look spot on, down to some great looking web slinging. I never understood why they had Dr. Connors in the Tobey series, and never even hinted at a Lizard storyline. Instead we got a forced Venom, and a completely altered Sandman storyline where he was Uncle Ben's killer, oh, and a broadway song and dance number too.
And it looks like Spidey having web shooters can be pulled off in a movie, contrary too what we were always being told. I hope this is highly successful, just so that with this and the Avengers massive success, Hollywood sees that you don't have to try to hollywood these comic stories up and go changing the source material to "make it better". Just stick to the script, get a quality cast that actually fits the role of the characters their playing, and a director that knows how to handle the whole thing, and boom, instant hit.
