Football isn't a game that is built on series of games. It is built on series of plays. In one game anything can happen. The Pats will be favored to come out of the AFC but there is a greater possibility of them falling in one game than there is the Cavs losing 4 games to a much inferior eastern conference opponent.
The Pats are guaranteed a 2nd round appearance annually. And an AFC title game appearance almost annually, and a Superbowl appearance every other year. Even before LBJ came to Miami, he only got the Cavs to the NBA Finals once. The Cavs were NEVER guaranteed an NBA Finals appearance in from 03-10 when LBJ was younger.

:laff: what I'm done....nikka the 94.5 is the lowest extra point percentage in modern history. What do you mean "hardly" an epidemic. I said the kicking is mediocre, I didn't say it was the worse of all time, or the end of the league. Those are assumptions you built into your explanation.

At this point this back and forth is ridiculous. On the second PFF link, Josh Brown is listed as having the top FG percentages in a season, despite only attempting 10 kicks. As I said before, comparing the stats on the first 4 games to the stats compiled during an entire season is wrong. If you can't understand that it's a wrap.

It's the lowest percentage in modern history, yes.
But it is not because they're mediocre or getting worse, it's because the league made the distance longer. The kickers now are still the best they've ever been. To say that they're mediocre when they better than they've ever been before implies that they're getting worse. Which is not the case. Calling them mediocre when the statistics do not support the case is to buy easily into propaganda.
Guys are still hitting from their ranges at the same percentages.

There is nothing wrong with comparing the stats on the kicking percentages after 4 weeks. Those numbers don't change wildly from week to week like, say, rushing yards do.

And that Josh Brown is listed for this season, where he is 10/10, which isn't even over yet. He's not the only guy listed, since there are several guys who have yet to miss a kick. You did not make any point there. :dwillhuh:

NBA is great. But the season is meaningless. So many throwaway games. Baseball too. Hockey I don't give a rats ass about but yeah their season is too long as well.

NFL is exciting and unpredictable. Nba will never overtake the nfl. It's just not happening yall.. it's OK to dream. But it's not gonna happen anytime soon. No matter how many threads yall make.

Quarterbacks are the best they've ever been. That doesn't stop us from complaining about the mediocre play.

You're looking way further into this than it needs to be because you wanted to sound smart dropping kicking stats. The league moved the distance back because kicking from the 2 yard line was a give me shot. The degree of difficulty was astronomically low and lowered the competitive difficulty of the game. One could argue that the statistics from prior years on extra points are over inflated, and this years stats to date reflect the true reality of NFL kicking.

What? Guy this is stat 101. You would only compare statistics from previous years UP TO THE FOURTH WEEK. This is about as basic as basic can get. You don't compare gun crimes from this year to gun crimes that occurred throughout 2014. You compare the amount of gun crimes that occurred in October 2014 vs October 2015. Then you compare the year to date gun crimes from Jan 2014 - Oct 2014 vs Jan 2015 - Oct 2015.

Yo - if you don't know why it makes no sense to put Josh Brown's 4 game season, or any other kicker's 2015 stats, in a list depicting the most accurate nfl kicking seasons, then you simply do not understand how statistics work.

The kicking game has not been tweaked like the rest of the game.

We are not comparing raw numbers, we are using percentages. There is no reason why we shouldn't use them.

The 2015 season is not done and the final leaders are going to change. There is nothing there that should be distracting you.

Exactly, there have been many number 1 and 2 seeds teams that lost in the NFL playoffs in past 10 years alone.

But some of these guys think "But the NFL is so predictable tho":Troll:

The NFL product is mediocre? Nah. It does have some problems but it is still overall the most exciting sport out there.

Most exciting sport? 13 minutes, 13 minutes the ball is in play and even when it's in play the shyt is boring as fukk. Even the highlights are straight :ld: status.

I can't get with the lack of creativity in Handegg either, making someone fall or juking someone while dribbling a ball (hands or feet) is just much more impressive than running and catching a ball, or running and making someone miss while holding a ball.

There isn't anything remotely as impressive as that in Handegg :wow:
