What happened to the kickers? :jbhmm:

I found an article that included your 4 weeks fetish, but it didn't include the Monday night game as it was published on 12:37 am on a Monday morning, but it doesn't change things much.

What's going on? Missed field goals are all the rage in NFL Week 4

In fact, the numbers don't necessarily back up the claim. Through the first four weeks of the season, kickers have made 83.6 percent of their field goals, which is only slightly lower than through Week 4 last year (84.7 percent) and a tad better than 2013 (82.7).

:jbhmm:

As mediocre as they've been, shouldn't there have been a steady stream of articles and evidence coming out since then?
I can barely find any.

1. Why would there be a steady stream of articles on kickers?
2. Are kickers numbers not down from last year? It's a petty and insignificant difference, but it essentially was my end all be all case and point.
3. Unlike the data you used to make your point initially, you were FINALLY able to find numbers that were comparable, and they were still lower. Thus making my point! (And also notice he compares the kicking numbers from the first 4 weeks of 2015 with the first 4 weeks of 2014 and 2013 - not ALL of 2014 and 2015; again basic statistics which I had to use multiple posts to explain to you)
4. Give up nikka damn

Why wouldn't there be multiple articles if they're being exposed as just "check grabbers"?
If they're being exposed at such a rate, the numbers should be way different. As in, not even close to any of the recent numbers, as your statement implied.
But the numbers were consistent with this era and continue to remain so. :jbhmm:

Redskins cut Kai Forbath, sign former Saints place kicker Dustin Hopkins

Kai Forbath entered Sunday’s season opener with the highest career success rate on field goals in Redskins history. But a miss from 46 yards out on Sunday, which followed ongoing inconsistency on kickoffs and a rocky training camp, prompted team officials to make a change.

New Orleans Saints' Kai Forbath on winning FG: 'That's kind of what I do this for'

The New Orleans Saints' Kai Forbath said his winning 50-yard field goal as time expired in the 52-49 victory Sunday against the New York Giants was "kind of what I do this for." It was also why the team added Forbath in place of Zach Hocker after his release 13 days earlier.

"They're good nerves," Forbath said about the feeling as he lined up for what he said was his fifth winning field goal in the NFL. "It's like adrenaline."

Forbath had successfully made each of his seven extra-point tries against the Giants, including one with 36 seconds left that tied the score at 49, when he returned to the field with 5 seconds left to kick the winner.

5 weeks + tonight's game to go and FG% around the league is currently sitting at 85.6%.

If anything, the only truly mediocre product in the NFL right now are kickers. Moving the extra point back has exposed a lot of check grabbers.

Final number league wide is 84.5%.

Tied for 2nd best ever.
