If he never got hurt him and Melo would have has a little more success. They were never winning a title together but at the least they may have reached an Eastern Conference Finals if Stat's knees wouldn't have betrayed him. Hope the best for him in Dallas though and I think he can still be a valuable contributor off the bench.

I like how he put New York on his back and embraced the city.

I never felt melo do that.

I like how Melo put NY on his back and gave them a 50 win season and took them to the second round of the playoffs.

I never felt amare do that

I'm not a Knicks fan, but I was definitely a fan of the work Amare tried putting in and his desire to play well and get back on the court. Did you see those numbers he put up before Melo came there, while they were running his ass into the ground? he was getting 30 PPG with 9 boards a game and doing his best to carry that sorry ass knicks squad with felton as their second best player(tbf, it was probably felton's best year).

Without Amare there might be no Melo. He came to the Knicks when there was nothing there, no star and just some budding talent in W.Chandler/Gallo/etc and he made them relevant again and a team that Melo would actually want to come to. Ya it went downhill because of those knee issues and all that shyt, but it's not like he had any control of that and the real thing is that he wanted to win and he wanted to play hard. He wasn't just in it for the checks at any point even though he could have been, he did his best to come back and he did his best to make up for that shyt contract(that's more Dolan's fault than his since no one forced his hand there).

Amare has NEVER given his all. If he did, he would've learned how to rebound or to play without relying on his athleticism. He was deteriorating in Phx. This is the same dude that you witnessed some of the most ridiculous defensive lapses ever. His game was always based on penetration-drop off, which is why he struggled. Knicks never had a PG to do so. And he was on the bench for most of the Knicks success with Melo. How many games did they play together, 100?

It's really becoming annoying, blaming Melo for everything. Did you NOT see him last season? Playing his heart out, playing defense, diving on the ground, doing the dirty work, being the only Knick doing so? I get tired of hearing iso ball. The only teams that don't play iso-ball are the teams that don't have the player to do so; when has the NBA not been iso ball?
