It's obvious that the people saying that comic book stores are dying don't actually go to comic book stores
this depends. Comic book stores have been closing around the country for a while now. but whatever. It's obvious that the people saying that comic book stores are dying don't actually go to comic book stores

You cant go to what doesnt exist. its not a thriving business. the few that remain are novelty shops selling comics along side toys and collectables and crap and normally in the corner of some run down strip mall or flea market.
No, that's not true. Maybe it is where you live, but there are several comic book stores in my area, including a nationally known one that does a big convention every year. Comic book shops may have been closing with other forms of entertainment becoming more popular, but the business is far from dead, even with digital comics out there. A lot of stores, like the one in this thread, also do more than just sell comics, and have become "geek" spots so people with mulitple interests come in.
More people read regular books than comic books and those are shutting down everywhere too. I didnt say none can exist for now in niche markets. believe it or not there are still some movie and dvd rental businesses that still exist too. But as whole the industry is dying and on the way out.
i wish her the best.. but your a fool if you think a comic book store is a good investment in 2015. Thats like trying to convince someone to start a print newspaper or print magazine in 2015 just cause some of the big ones are still around. There is a reason why she is begging the public for 30k to open up her shop. Cause no smart money would invest in something that wont be around in 5 years.
Believe it or not but the comic industry is up in sales not going downcomic book store in 2015? Thats like opening up a dvd rental store. Im sure a few still exist but its a dying business with no growth opportunity.
