My best friend is a black female and she dated a white male who comes from money. He never put her down...and when it came time for her to do her graduate degree, some of her own family members declined to help her out with money. His parents gave her the amount she needed and without interest...they were all very supportive. Five years later, she's still paying them back without any pressure at all on their end. In your case, it wasn't his money that made him a jerk, it was his personality.
