thats what makes The Wire so great. they dont figure it all out in 40 minutes and sometimes they take the L.

this is why I CAN'T stand watching law and order. I'm talking about the original series. the DA, mccoy is so damn smug, and seems to win EVERY case at the last minute. shyt is retarded, but my wife watches them shyts all day.

i give Law & Order a pass for the theme song alone...and i was watching that one before anything...but it def led the way to a billion other series to copy it

I think medical shows are worse. I literally don't even give new shows a chance anymore. Code Black, Chicago med, there's a new one dropping in a few weeks about hearts or some shyt.

I hate pretty much any procedural show because they don't have endings. I don't need to watch a show for 10 seasons. Have a story to tell, tell it then keep it moving.

I don't watch much anymore, but I grew up on 'Miami Vice', and 'Law & Order', they are simply procedurals, as opposed to serialized tv, which has become much more the norm then in years previous....Also, the better of those shows, like 2 I mentioned, may be procedure, but they often leave on a dark note, and convey a sense of helplessness, outrage, regarding the whole process....'Criminal Intent' was another unconventional procedural...

True detectives was also onto something but the writer turned out to to be shyt. Say what yall want but those shows do numbers for some reason.

i think the biggest problem was that he was forced to write an entire season within a year. rushed writing = bad writing. The show also sorely missed Fukunaga who is a great filmmaker.
