The first ones were events for car enthusiasts. I remember opening weekend the movie parking lots being filled with suped up whips and everyone riding down the street showing off. The city car shows would even have a section for F&F inspired customized cars....I haven't seen that all since the series jumped the shark.

There may be swarms of people shelling out cash to watch these abominations, but there's no reason to believe there aren't mad people who want nothing to do with it. Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter may have made billions, but I know for sure nobody in my circle has watched a single one of those joints including me
