i) The situations are ENTIRELY different - Hawks fans claimed they were the best team in the East and that no team was going to beat them, I simply said that they weren't better than the Cavs (and that they weren't going to beat a combination of the Wizards, Bulls and Cavs) and that's where the argument started. Them believing they were the best and me saying that the Cavs were the best team in the East. The same thing you're celebrating now is the same thing you clowned last season with the Hawks.
ii) This was my original post in this thread -
Again, COMPLETELY different to what the Hawks fans were saying.Disclaimer - This isn't me saying they're going to win the championship nor will I be reliable if Lowry [his fat ass] puts the weight back on.
Despite having one of the best offenses (4th) last season, their growth was stunted by having one of the worst defenses (25th). With the addition of DMC, Biyombo and Joseph to a defensive unit already on the upswing, I see no reason why they can't have a top 10 defense to match an offense that'll likely be better than last season: faster pace, fluid ball movement (less dependence on ISOs - no more Lou), a focused and slimmed-down top 5* PG, a top 5* SG, a competent 3-pt shooting SF and diverse frontcourt scoring.
I see no reason why this team doesn't have the potential to be the second best team in the East.
iii) The Hawks eventually were swept by the Cavs without Love and Kyrie hobbling through two games. If Love is out for the entire series, and Kyrie gets injured and only plays limited minutes and the Raptors get swept then I'll concede, but at this point I was spot on with my projection of this team.
If you don't wanna give me props that's cool, but don't come in here hating when I have made my self abundantly clear since the very start on what my projection of them was. Especially since you upped this thread multiple times.. And don't come in here acting like my arguments have mirrored what the Hawks fans were posting last season.
