Harlem now ain't the same Harlem it was

You got men out right walking in Harlem holding hands wit ass cheeks out

You got white women jogging at night time

You got them even trying to rename Harlem

So this is no suprise

Rename it? I hope that doesn't happen for cultural reasons.

Its 2020, despite what rappers talk about and all these alleged gang ties, the price of life is very expensive now...the chances of hittin something and getting away with it in NYC are very slim (which is a great thing). This isnt 1987 New York, back then somebody woulda knocked a famous rat down just for the brownie points. Nobody is throwing their life away for this guy.

The fact none of these supposed tough guys have at least snuffed him tho then spit on him is kinda suspect, lol...do remember Alpo is a bonified killer. Him being a snitch doesnt negate that

Say you don’t like what he stood for
Say you don’t like what he did

All that other shyt ain’t valid

People uptown are more concerned with paying some of the most expensive rent prices in America

I don't know why dude ain't tried to monetise himself yet.

Start a youtube channel, sell some merch or something breh. Easy money.

His kids should be putting him up on how easy online businesses are nowadays, and how easy it is to promote.

He's only got a few years until he'll be looking too flabby to pull off the right image.

sad but true. The 90s shyt is gone and that 80s shyt is definitely gone for good. And anyone left behind in present day gentrified Harlem from the past era are in the projects because the button pushers haven’t found a way (YET) to get rid of them.

There are still small pockets of fukkery and long time residents who just wont dip but the 2010s damn near finished off Harlem and I’m speaking from shyt I see with my own two eyes. They are literally putting up luxury apt towers in Harlem left and right and anyone from back in the day who had their chance to do anything is washed and powerless or dead.

Harlem is done just like a lot of parts of BK

All that tough talk was only online and in Jim Jones songs, lol. Fact is, a lot of niccas from his era is either dead, in jail or old and washed up. And the rest, as far as the young niccas go, they dont remember/care bout none of that shyt. The most they know is Paid In Full.
Exactly everyone dead /jail/washed up .... only cat I think would actully do anything to alpo these days is maybe Gangsta lou can’t see anyone else have the bottle to try anything against him who had any history with him ..... other then that ...

Clowns will sweat anyone who has fame.

I actually OWN property in Harlem, can Alpo say the same?

probably not. Alpo, Rich and all of them cats back then were apart of the most destructive era in that area and there’s nothing to show for it. No one used those drug profits and copped those brownstones that were boarded up.

As much as the lifestyle was glorified in the 80s/90s, look at where things are now in Harlem. CACs pulled up, bought shyt up, jacked prices up and now it’s on some game over shyt. All of this repping for the block shyt means nothing when you come back to your old neighborhood and the energy is permanently different. Just ask the people who live along that Labor Day parade route on Eastern Parkway when the clock strikes 4:59pm and the cops are telling people to clear the area. The ones who brought up that area have no issue throwing their muscle around and having people leave.

(speaking of plans, I bought and archived tons of footage and documentaries, that I thought would become rare and increase in value as they went out of print. Including hood documentaries like this one, on vhs. This one is so hood, there's a typo on the box cover. Youtube fukked up my plans)

Agree with what you wrote.
But these were young guys out there during that time. No mentors in the game, no organization that they were connected to.......just a bunch of independents buying drugs from connects and supplying smaller guys. Of course they were going to buy cars and clothes.
By the time they would have thought about purchasing property, they were dead, locked up or fukked up and doing bad

those dudes back then had money and firepower and knew that they didn’t have to listen even if the elders (who weren’t in the game) spoke some real shyt to them.

In his book Alpo even said he kicks himself for not buying up property when he had the money. He admitted him and everybody should have been buying up brownstone houses and apartments instead of bullshyt like different jewelry, cars and outfits for each day.

As for people embracing Alpo, it is what it is. All I know is Wayne Perry with his crazy self must be even more pissed lol.
