After another visit in December and another at the beginning of this month, I’ve had a change of heart.
Prior visits to the city were a bit biased seeing that I primarily stayed within Santa Barbara, the Palisades, and other west side neighborhoods.

Australia also has a big manufacturing economy and so Syndey is probably the hub of that.
The only industry that puts LA on the map is entertainment and the resulting tourism industry that comes from that.

Australia doesn’t have a manufacturing industry no more; that died a long time ago. Australia is now primarily resource, service, real estate and finance based economy. Sydney is a poorly planned city which is the financial hub of Australia.
Entertainment, Culture, History, People, Diversity, Weather, Location, Economy, Tourism, in EVERY metric, Los Angeles has Sydney beaten.

Australia isn't a scenically blessed. It’s a dry continent with a decent coastline. It’s a dry continent with a decent coastline. Outside the tropical north and beaches out west, there is nothing else to see in Australia. America is more blessed geographically
