MIAMI (CBSMiami) – President Barack Obama is scheduled to be back in South Florida Thursday to attend democratic fundraisers.

Air Force One is scheduled to land at Miami International Airport just before 5 p.m. President Obama will host a fundraiser for House Democrats at the home of former Miami Heat star Alonzo Mourning. The event will benefit the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. :salute:

As with any presidential visit, drivers in the area can expect delays from rolling road blocks.

The fundraiser is among the first Obama will hold ahead of the 2014 midterm elections. Obama will also raise money for Senate Democrats and the Democratic National Committee.

Earlier this month, the President and First Lady visited Coral Reef High School to talk to students about the importance of getting a college education.

This is what you call “downsizing” in the NBA!

Miami Heat great Alonzo Mourning is downsizing to a 10,000-square-foot house this month!

The NBA retiree and his socialite wife just paid $4.5 million for new digs in Pinecrest, Gossip Extra has learned.

They paid cash, according to records, since they also sold their $13,000-square-foot, 8-bedroom mansion in Coral Gables Oct. 11 for a tidy $11.35 million!

The former center’s new place on SW 109th Street is in a wooded area of the Miami suburb and boasts nearly an acre of tropical vegetation.

It’s got “just” six bedrooms and nine bathrooms.

There’s one thing the Mournings new place has that the other didn’t, however: A bidet in the master bathroom!

Mourning came to the Heat in 1996 after signing one of the NBA’s first $100 million-contracts.

He sat out the 2002-03 season so that he could undergo a kidney transplant after Mourning was diagnosed with a rare ailment.

He eventually returned to the team on time for the Heat’s first NBA championship in 2006, and retired for good in 2009. He’s now the team’s vice president of player development.
