Round 1 vs the 8th-seeded Pacers, who were in the Finals the year before. Rik Smits retired and Larry Bird stepped down as the coach, replaced by Zeke.

Game 2 - AI drops 45

Round 2 vs the 5th-seeded Raptors, with Vince Carter at the height of his powers.

Game 2 - AI drops 54 after the Raptors stole Game 1. Must-win game for Philly, they needed him to be amazing and he was.

After Vince drops 50 in Game 3 to put Toronto up 2-1, AI hits a clutch 3 in Toronto to even the series. This game is also notable for Charles Oakley's boneheaded decision to try and run a solo fastbreak with AI chasing him down, shown at the end of this video.

Game 5 - AI drops 52 after being presented the MVP trophy to put the Sixers up 3-2.

Game 7 - The Raptors throw the kitchen sink at AI to stop his scoring. He drops 16 dimes and Philly wins the series.

ECF vs the Bucks with Ray Allen, Glenn Robinson and Sam Cassell

After the 6ers went up 1-0, the Bucks got super physical with AI, forced him into a 5-for-26 Game 2 and he sat out Game 3 to rest his hip. He didn't even sit on the bench so that the hip could heal better. Came back for Games 4 and 5 which Philly took to go up 3-2. Game 6 was a blowout until Philly made a furious push to make it respectable, with AI dropping 26 of his 46 in the 4th.

The momentum from that run carried into Game 7, where AI dropped 44 to send the Sixers to the Finals.

NBA Finals - The Lakers swept through the entire West. It was a foregone conclusion that they'd be the champs. The only discussion was whether they'd lose a game.

Game 1 - 48 points, Sixers win, Lue's soul is taken.

6 40+ point games, including 2 50+ point games. Won 2 series his team had no business winning. Shaq was the only reason they didn't win the title. I tried to find the clip of AI telling reporters "they got Shaq, man" during the Finals. That's a story for another day.

Appreciate AI at his peak!

B-b-but Curry is WAAAAAY better than Iverson they say. Iverson was overrated they say. He was SOOOOOO inefficient they say. He'd never do what Currys doing on golden state :beli:

Them A.I vs. Kobe vs. TMac arguments me and my homeboys use to have in 2001-2003 in the 6th and 7th grade :wow:
Comin to homeroom in 1st period rockin headbands and armsleeves I made out of my dress socks.
White teachers lookin at me like it was somethin wrong with the kid:what:
But my black social studies teacher, Mr. Stansberry, knew the deal. Use to give me:myman:
But still told me to take my headband and sleeve off:ufdup:

A.I inspired a generation of young urban youth only trying to catch dudes sleepin with crossovers the entire game and jack up contested 3's.
No offensive fundamentals :wow:
But that left to right crossover was mean in the streets. They knew about me.
Moms wouldn't let me grow my hair out and get cornrows:mjcry:
Dudes be on the court talkin bout "I'm kobe man" other cat like "Aiight I'ma be Tmac" im in the cut with the uneven temp fade my uncle gave me like "I'm rookie A.I when he had regular hair fresh outta Georgetown that crossed up MJ" . Had them boys like :ohhh:
God Bless that man Allen Iverson.

Ray outplayed AI thoroughly
Yeah he did, but according to most, all Ray did was run around screens and shoot 3s. :martin:

I don't care what anybody say, Ray gave up the most to play on that Boston team and was the one to get crapped on the most.

Who was scoring on that team when AI went to the bench:dwillhuh:

Mutombo
Lynch
Aaron Mckie
Eric Snow
Theo Ratliff

:scust:
That's the thing..He consistently led the league in minutes played iirc plus we didn't need that much scoring from other players when the defense was locking down at an insane leve; but we need a second or third scorer the following years when the level of defense fell off

Iverson is to this generation of undersized combo guards what Mike Vick is to this generation of mobile QBs. No matter how much more efficient(FG%, completion%) or how much more they win(Curry, Wilson) the fact will always remain that the game wouldn't be what it is without those guys today.
