Definitely those 2.
But I could say 3 members from Wu
One of them being damn near the most popular rapper in hip hop at the time, Method Man.

A couple dudes from the West coast. Another one being one of the most popular in the game Snoop.

Then DMX started running shyt and Busta.

There's always people on the Internet asking that question when was Jay-Z the best rapper. And that start breaking down the years.
There really was never a time Jay-Z was either the best rapper or artist. But somehow he became the man.

I think of jayz like drake.
For comparison the game was filled with a bunch of j. Coles, Kendricks and them Griselda nikkaz.
But somehow people start acting like drake is better than them. He's a C+ rapper but he can make hits :yeshrug:.

:stopitslime:

This is complete bullshyt.

And Jay > Ghostface and definetly Method Man in any era, jesus christ.

Also fukk Allen Huges and Crackkkaport, I'm out.

nikka what....

If you would even type out that Jay was better/bigger than Method Man then I can't even take you seriously brother.
There's no person who was alive that would say some shyt like that.

See that’s where the real issue is, in “Bigger”, people try to use that as a qualifier to discredit Jay because at any given time there was someone a more popular.

Mef was certainly “bigger” for a time but better at rapping? fukk no, sam I am, chim chiminiy chim chim cherre

Vs D’evils?

Imo, Jay was basic as fukk. And had no character or personality. Back in the day I didn't know how anyone could listen to that shyt.

So whether method man was just more entertaining or Nas was better lyrically. Jay was never great at being either one.
So he is the C+ student in creative writing class

There's only been like 3 people in NY hip hop that had the streets on lock.
Jay isn't one of them.

I can still admit that at one time it felt like Jayz was the Standard in hip hop...
now I'm just questioning how it got that way.
Allan Hughes is saying work ethic. I guess
