It's always been funny to me how one hand the picket fence around the house is a staple of the American Dream, and on the other hand terms like "Get off my lawn" gets clowned in American popular culture.

So which is it? A fence to demarcate my property safely or an open field in front of my house for all to descend on in the name of being "neighborly."

I do know this, though, cliches exist for a reason and there's a reason people get told to not trespass on another's property. Parents' need to teach their kids to stay the hell off of other people's yards (idiot adults as well) and if someone tells you to leave their property, get off their property. Not trying to justify a child getting shot for being in the wrong yard, but there's a time and a place, and 11:30pm in a yard that ain't yours definitely ain't the time nor the place.

Yeah I just looked some up and they come in regular pastel Nerf colors.

I don’t have kids, but growing up I remember nerf guns had those orange or bright tips so u know the difference, but now motherfukkers are painting over the tips or putting black electrical tape on them

I went to HS in a suburb of Cincy that did these dart wars also. Honestly never thought about how dangerous it was looking back because the whole community knew what was going on and there wasn’t crime like that to be worried about it being kids doing anything but being kids. That was damn near 20 years ago though ( ) and times have changed.

I don’t know what it is but I don’t give a damn what age someone is when they are potentially committing a crime. I guess that’s because I’m used to the youngsters doing dirt due to them being young. If you are on my property especially near midnight with what I deem as a threat fukk your age. Granted if I know it’s a kid I may act accordingly but then again how do I know it’s not an adult? It’s just an unfortunate event.
