Hope the kid is alright. The details of it happening around 11:30 PM I think lends itself more to self defense or just general fear at that time of night. 13 shots is a lot but I am doubting kids were having playing nerf gun shootout just in his lawn and whoever pulled the trigger probably was worried. But man, it's hard to justify 13 shots if you arent truly in fear for your life.

Terrible story, hopefully the kid pulls through and the story doesnt end in the way it seems to be going
