All things considered, Shinsuke Nakamura hasn't had such a bad run in the WWE

I mean, when you compare his accomplishments with other internet wrestling darlings who have been released, or have nowhere near as many accolades as he's had, you can see that it hasn't been that bad for him.

IMO it's looked at as a disappointment due to the fact he should have won the main belt at least once, either during the AJ Styles feud after he won the rumble or when Jinder was champ.

He's quietly the most accomplished Japanese wrestler in american wrestling history. Only Muta, Chono, and Liger compare domestically.

Maybe my expectations were high based on how big and dope he was in Japan. But he hasnt done anything of note besides that classic with Sami and winning the Rumble. Sure he accomplished a dream...makes a good living. But from a viewers perspective, is that what constitutes a good run in WWE nowadays?

Accomplishing everything but the title and being on tv consistently for years.... especially with a rumble win? Yeah that's a good run...

Asuka won the woman's championship which is the peak of her profession kayfabe wise. Shinsuke hasn't so I don't see how it isn't her. And she won the Royal Rumble too so he doesn't have that over her either.

He's been in mid card phantom zone for all but a few months of his run. After the title feud with AJ he's had no angles or feuds to speak of, won the US/IC title multiple times each and prob has less than a dozen defenses on TV or PPV with all of them combined. Dude could and should have been a huge star for WWE. Instead, they treat him like ethnic Cesaro and he treats it like he's on vacation.

His fued with AJ wasn't nearly as good at it should have been.

I bet that's why he didn't get the title during that feud because the matches were lackluster.
