All things considered, is Nicolas Cage the worst actor of all time?

when you take longevity into consideration, he has to be? I mean the dude has an Oscar! He still gets semi big roles (kick ass) and has actually starred in some great/borderline AMAZING films (adaptation, lord of war, leaving las vegas) but I'll be damned if he wasn't awful in all of them.

I was watching matchstick men last night and although i love the movie, this dude was fukkin terrible. there were a couple scenes where you could tell Sam Rockwell was probably thinking "how in the fukk am I a co star to this guy :aicmon:"

Nicolas Cage is fukkin horrible

EDIT: Some of you need to learn to read. I'm not hating on his films, he's been in some good ones. I'm hating on HIM as an actor.

Don't ever say he was great in anything. He was tolerable maybe, but great is an overstatement. Raising Arizona is a terrible movie by the way. Do people only like it because the Coen's directed it or what? the bank robbery is the only funny scene.

As far as the guy from the room... I said "all things considered" though, meaning I'm sure there are people out there who are worst than Cage, but they don't have oscars. they aren't in 4 decent to big budgeted films a year.

haha Paul Walker is Nicolas Cage jr...

I thought he did a decent job in Running Scared though :manny:

the scene where he was dying in Vera Farmiga's arms was believable. it was hard to pull off for someone without acting chops, but he kinda nailed it :manny:

he's definitely up there, especially when you consider he was kind of a top guy at one point.

But he was prolly better earlier in his career

Has anyone seen this?

there's a scene where he's wrapped in a blanket, shivering and quivering because he had witnessed an air plane crash about 6 hours earlier...and I guess watching an air plane crash makes you cold :mjpls:

it was one of the worst acted scenes I've EVER seen in my life
