Vanilla Ice not being able to maintain his initial success had a lot to do with him being exposed for having ghostwriters. Between that and him having to answer an actual question on Arsenio, he fukked up his draw and then tried to go "gangsta".

I think his style and the way he delivers is too unique for someone to write for him.

Though I wouldn't be surprised if he had help in the studio when he was heavily on drugs. I just don't think it's all that likely.
