WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs) has resumed his villain persona, with a verbal assault on what he says will be his "final" career opponent, former two-time champion Andre Berto.
Mayweather defends his titles against Berto in the main event of a Showtime Pay-Per-View card on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The pre-fight build has been rather quiet in comparison to some of Mayweather's past promotions.
Mayweather decided to let the verbal punches fly, from all angles, on a recent episode of Showtime's reality series, All Access.
He set the tone, flaunting his financial dominance and promising to send Berto packing back to his home country of Haiti.
"Get crazy, I'm gonna send you back to your country. We're sending them back to their country. They're crazy. Where that boy from, Haiti?," Mayweather said."
"Berto talking about 'yeah I know Floyd, I've been knowing Floyd for years.' Absolutely, you've been knowing me for years. You look up to me, you've been looking up to me. I'm your idol. Leonard [Ellebe], get that man some f***ing money."
"This is his biggest payday. What are you getting, $4 million? I got a car out there for $4.8 million. We'll round it off to $5 million. Be appreciative kiddo. Don't be picky."
"I can hang out and go to the club. My opponent better be at home resting., cause he's really a $2 million dollar fighter, really a million dollar fighter. You know what I'm saying? I'm a $100 million dollar fighter. My fault, a $300 million dollar fighter. My fault - when it's all said an done, an $800 million dollar fighter"
