I'm not so sure that Hopkins is "scared" here, it sounds more like he wants to go out with a bigger bang in his last fight. Abraham (or GGG if that was at all possible for him) is probably a better look for him from his perspective. The man is 50 and locked up the HOF damn near two decades ago, you think he's just gonna let the IBF tell HIM who his last fight is gonna be against?

Beterbiev wants ethe eliminator because then he becomes the mandatory. At that time, Hayman can buy the fight when it goes to purse bid and then put it on PBC. The only reason Haymon isnt signing off on the Kovalev fight right now is that it would need to be on HBO, vs a purse bid Haymon likely wins and can put on whatever network he likes.
