IMO…..the best grunge band of that era was Soundgarden. No one had vocals like Chris Cornell. The SuperUnknown album was an all time classic. Them….and Pearl Jam are the top two to me.
I still gotta go with Kurt he was the best song writer of the era

Soundgarden

On voice capabilities alone Kurt Cobain was by far the weakest out of that era.

Scott Weiland was a better singer than Kurt. Yeah I said it too
