I tend to agree with Cus that in a 15 round fight you're not keeping a prime Joe Louis off you...Ali is not dancing around that man for 15 rounds and when he pointed out "I would of grabbed him right there" while watching the Schmeling highlights, Max would of done the same if he knew where the fukk he was...They didn't show the right hand that fukked his equilibrium up...Yea Louis was slow footed but always a step ahead of the other guy because everything Louis did was methodical, he's a thinking mans fighter...Fought tall behind his excellent jab, cut off the ring well and every movement he made was to set up that big right hand and when he landed it nobody in the history of the sport can finish like the Brown Bomber...

All that said...if anyone can survive 15 rounds with Louis, its Ali...so...:yeshrug:

This is a fight I wouldn't bet on...just sit back and enjoy black athletic excellence...:blessed:

Ali had a longer reach, ali in his prime weighed anywhere between 215-236, the heaviest joe louis weighed was 214 so Ali is the natural bigger man

ali wouldn't take him lightly and wouldn't slack off in training like he did when going against a lot of guys, so I give Ali the edge and I don't think Joe Louis would knock him out, because Ali could take a beating, knew how to cheat, he was just too cunning

word...

I think Joe could of TKOed Ali...good reach..good height...good boxing abiltiy..Great power..
fukk and No. Mike Tyson said it himself. With the advancement of vitamins/fitness routines/etc
Boxers of today would KILL boxers of yesteryear. Joe Lewis looks like a scrub out there fighting nikkaz that would get mopped up at applebees let alone in a ring with Ali.

Tyson in his prime would have laid Ali out in a few rounds just like everyone else he fought during that epic run :salute:

but whenever you have these types of convos you have to adjust for that.

You would have to imagine that if Joe Lewis was fighting during Ali's time he would make the same adjustments.

Not necessarily. You didn't have to be in top athletic shape back in those days.
You have to say would they all train as hard? Maybe they wouldn't be as dedicated to their craft :manny:
All I'm saying, Joe Louis didn't look like he had any real SKILL in those vids I saw
So I can't just assume he'd be the best. He could be :flabbynsick: in a different era
Wouldn't be a shock if that were the case imo
