While some are grateful for the infusion of cash, at least three Democrats have so far either declined the initial transfer or said they would return the money: Reps. Conor Lamb of Pennsylvania, Carolyn Bourdeaux of Georgia and Elissa Slotkin of Michigan, according to multiple sources.

In the political donation world, wire transfers are commonly used to quickly move large sums of money from one account to another, particularly in the final stretch of a fundraising quarter and during a pandemic. The Ocasio-Cortez transfers carried clear political risk for some members, however, and some sources pointed out that she could have alleviated the current anxiety by giving to the DCCC directly.
So, they would've been fine with taking her money if it was laundered through the DCCC? Cowards. Lol.

Overall, though, interesting evolution AOC seems to be going through. I'm still holding out hope that this won't be the case, but it's increasingly looking like she'll end up like Krysten Sinema a few years from now.

Wow police visit someone who dared criticize AOC on Twitter and your comment is they are trying to take AOC down?! :dwillhuh:
Free speech in America really is in peril and no one cares.

I watched the video no one said that. But AOC did tell her followers to become online police and report language they find worrisome. This didn't remotely reach that and police are still at people's door asking stupid questions. Do you think she should have mobilized her followers into thought police?

She told her supporters to report false, threatening, misinformation tweets that have gone viral which are lies that have her photoshopped doing weird shid or saying shid she didn't say. Flagging "harassing and threatening" social media posts ≠ call the police on social media critics. I don't know why this is becoming an equivalence to snitching.

Is there even evidence that guy was reported on Twitter and then it was sent to the FBI? The US government could have found him by going to his podcast site. It's not THAT difficult.

Considering there are dozens of death threats on her head, I sympathize. I do agree that the social media giants being arbiters of truth is a problem. The companies should be broken up and shid... at the same time, there are straight up lies and fake shid going viral from right wing sources primarily and now you have elements of the left that will seize on it to attack AOC as a corporate shill and a sellout every week.

This isn't to defend her stupid takes on Israel-Palestine seeing her juelzing or something like that. She should get roundly criticized for speaking in platitudes. I got no problem with that.
