California, the most democratic state as far as I know;
- recently had the budget for the prison system exceed the budget for education
- Illegal immigrants can't vote
- I'll give you welfare although Peter Wilson was in office in California in 1996 when the Welfare Reforms took place...hold that for me
- "People living off the system" is vague. Hiring several accountants to minimize your tax returns isn't "living off the system"?, Finding loopholes in policies to maximize profit isn't "living off the system"? Filing for bankruptcy to default on loans isn't "living off the system"?
These are all reoccurring activities of many Republicans who, as you, hold the belief that welfare and "social" programs are what's putting U.S. in the red.
