this is a terrible idea

one reason why is that you CAN NOT be successful in the NFL right now without an elite QB

this will just widen the gap between the teams who dont have one ... will make for a lot of worthless games and franchises

This 4th & 15 idea is way too gimmicky and borders on XFL teritory. If you're gonna get rid of kickoffs just put the ball at the 20.

I'm fine with it except for the 4th and 15 part.

Personally, I've always wanted to eliminate the following in football

  • Protecting QB's - You either protect everyone or noone at all If the man has pads on like the other 21 players on the field you should be able to hit him just like every other player on the field. We need 22 football players on the field. Not 21 football players + 1 QB
  • Punts - You either make it or you don't. You fail to make 10 yard the other team takes over on downs. Period
  • Field goals - The object of the game is to score touchdowns by crossing the goal line. Just because you failed to do so doesnt mean you get to salvage 3 points out of said drive.
  • Point after - In what other sport do you score and then get the chance to add to it without any penalty involved? Thats like scoring a basket and then getting free throw even tho you werent fouled.
:dahell:

Those rules protecting QBs are beyond necessary. Not only do they have the whole defense trying to destroy them, they're statues in the pocket a lot of the time that is happening. How does a QB protect himself in the moment after that pass is thrown? Or in the process of throwing it? And there are rules for the protection of every player on the field.

I hate the war analogies used in football, but they make sense. The game is made up of series of trying to gain your opponents territory. Strategy is a big part of that. Punting is part of the strategy. If you can't make it then punt and give the opponent a longer field.

The object of the game is to score more points than the other team. Field goals have been a way to score since the inception of the game. So I'm gonna need a better reason for getting rid of them than cats not liking kickers.

You don't get a free point in any other sport, cause they don't have that rule. What do other sports have to do with football? Again, you'll need a better reason to change a rule that's been a part of the game forever than not liking kickers.

Love
QB's need to be protected though.
I really hate when ppl say that that they should be treated like any other football player.

What other player on the team has dudes trying to kill him on EVERY SINGLE DOWN!!

defenses say this shut, but they are never the ones getting tackled. nor are they the ones having dudes take cheap shots on em or having ppl gang tackel them

defenseless receivers and qb's NEED to be protected.
What ever dude carrying the ball.

There is a reason why RB's usually dont last past 4 years in this league.

My request is simple: protect every player the same. Either you protect every player carrying the ball the same or not at all.

TYRONE GA!
Guys are just going to have to sign a waiver to play in the NFL. You know what you getting yourself into when you play football. As long as the NFL does cover any potential injuries from the game, I think the waiver will be the way to go.
