”Dilated Peoples "Back Again" (2006)
Album: 20/20
Label: Capitol
The Alchemist: “I was thinking about Juelz Santana when I was making that beat. Sometimes you’re making a beat and you have somebody in your mind. They never get on it but its just a motivator to finish it. I played it for Dilated Peoples and they were like, ‘Yo, lets go, back again!’ They did it, no-brainer shyt. Everytime we get up it’s a no-brainer.
“I think the video helped bring it all together because my man Jason Goldwatch came up with the idea. I didn’t really get it at first he kinda drew it out, even down to the day of the shoot it was really almost not gonna work.
“I remember me and Evidence were like, ‘fukk man.’ Jason was like, ‘No, trust me.’ It was thought out but it was such a feat that I remember when it was finally working I looked at Jason and he looked like the dude from Back To The Future, like an amazed scientist watching his own creation happen.
“The end result as you can see is straight genius. People try to bite it but that’s why Jason is ill, he rides on the edge. He rides the line between not happening and amazing. He's one of the best. He's an artist.
I'm dying to hear his album with Action Bronson. It's my most anticipated album this year after Kendrick of course.
Those beats on Russian Roulette aren't Russian samples
That has to be the life, to just craft dope beats all day.
Alc BLANKED OUT on the boards for the Currensy album.
When is the Step Brothers album gonna drop?
Ev said he just finished a distribution deal for StepBros. Late 2012 or (probably) 1st quarter 2013.
