I tried giving this a second listen last nite, and personally speaking, I hate this album/mix/whatever it is. I've loved all of Al's projects too, and have pretty much everything he's put out, but this record just doesn't do anything for me.

Just finished listening to this. I loved every moment. This is why you should never take reviews seriously. The way people was talking I though this was Chemical Warface all over again. I put Russian Roulette behind 1st Infantry. It sounded like ALC was influence by Madlib and old Columbo episodes, even though they're all Russian samples.

No doubt, shyts dope, It also seemed to have a Pink Floyd type vibe/influence to it as well, IMO.

This album's brilliance can't be overstated. The production is truly amazing and gives it quite a retro feel. Despite never hearing any of these samples, they still feel like something you heard out the corner of your ear at one point in your life. And I love the undercurrent of Rocky IV throughout the album, especially Adrian's Words which I find myself listening to constantly.

The rapping ranges from amazing to competent, but I don't think there's a single "bad" verse here. It's interesting that the first three rappers you hear are AG Tha Coroner, Meyhem Lauren, and Action Bronson. That's quite a powerful co-sign from one of the best producers in the game. These dudes are definitely welcome sights for NY rap.

It's nearly impossible for me to listen to one song without having to listen to each following song until the album ends.
