This looks like Skull Island 2.0

They should have continued with Pratt.

I wasn't sure if I should include this spoiler, since it doesn't really affect the plot. But in case you're wondering, the skeleton they are disassembling in this scene belongs to Rexy, the T-Rex from the original Jurassic Park film and the first three Jurassic World films. She was already considered old when the first Jurassic World movie came out, so it's no surprise that she's no longer around by the time Rebirth rolled around. Regardless...

Man, the bar is so low. Lol. This could end up being mid and still be a major improvement over Dominon. Felt the same with F4 yesterday.

But I like that they got Koepp tagging along, who had a hand in writing the OG flicks. Gareth is someone who I can rely on to have crazy visuals, but leaves a lot to be desired when he’s writing his own stuff.
We desperately need new franchisess. still getting sequesls to movies from the late 70s-mid 90s

It's one of those things where I was lamenting in another thread about how the top 15 (maybe more) highest-grossing movies of 2024 were all franchise films. I was really hoping to see more successful original films. Yet, there I'll be, front and center for JW: Rebirth on opening weekend, not to mention Fantastic Four, Superman, M3gan, and the rest. So, I guess I'm part of the problem too.

We’re getting sequels to new franchises these days, too. M3GAN and Nobody come to mind. These Jurassic flicks make too much money for Hollywood to ditch ‘em though. Dominion, as shyt as it was, still pulled in a billion lol.

David Robert Mitchell (‘It Follows’) has a new movie coming out that’s rumored to tackle something similar to this and involve dino fukkery. Not Jurassic, but it may scratch your itch. They’ve been hella cryptic on the plot details for it.

It’s called Flowervale Street.
