Man, saying these guys drive drunk because they're trained not to admit defeat is the lamest bullshyt excuse I've ever heard.

Drunk driving is a problem across many/most industries. We focus on pro athlete & celeb DWIs cuz they are meticulously reported.

If each major city's newspapers/stations/websites reported every time a member of the state's legal bar association got a DWI, you would think that lawyers were a bunch of drunks. Same for dentists. Same for accountants. Same for advertisers. How 'bout those professional musicians and DJs and radio folk? College students?
Maybe not cops and priests/ministers/pastors/reverends... ( ._.)

The NFL and individual teams aren't going to do any more handholding than they already do wrt drinking and dv and drugs and gunplay. Players' careers are too short and public $$$ support is too plentiful for management to care more. *shrug* There is always another athlete to replace each fallen or imprisoned fukkwit.

How about fans coming from games? nikkas be lit in the first quarter and are steadily chugging beers down. The reality is drinking and driving occurs regularly across the country. Myopia is not limited to NFL players.
