I'd feel some type of way if a random NBA players died from an overdose at 30, don't need to be best friends :why:

But if you actually showcase yourself as his friend, all those IG posts should be following by visits to the family at least during the funeral

Not putting this on who I quoted but some people are just band wagon sheep. They see traction on something and just want to add to it.

I feel you - It seems people are more critical of the individuals calling out the hypocrisy than the actual hypocrites.....Nasty work

There’s people over the years I’ve fell off with and don’t care for anymore, if found out they died today I’d still feel some type of hurt and remember good moments we had.

I hate when people do what Akademiks is doing.

It's sorta of different in the industry because these people would give you a cold shoulder if you're not longer hot but would post pictures of you and talk about "THIS ONE HURTS" when you gone.

I’m from Ga and never was a Quan fan and won’t act like I was

But from an aspect of common sense, the industry itself is built off fakeness. We just saw this with the Drake/Kendrick battle. Drake was fake buddies with a bunch of these rappers while doing snake shyt behind the scenes and when Kendrick put him in a body bag all the rappers and producers felt it was “safe” to air their grievances.

This is not an industry for close personal friendships and expecting people to be “real” with you. At the tops of the chain MILLIONS of dollars are at stake at every juncture and the only way to expect some type of loyalty out of people is to do some Wu-Tang/Odd Future shyt where you come in the game as a collective and all do business together and stick together through that business. Don’t be expecting “new friends”.

Also if Rich Homie Quan was mixed up with drugs then we don’t know what HE may have done to alienate people within the industry, lets not forget drug addicts are the most reliable narrators and tend to play victim. He may have hurt/betrayed/offended people that caused them not to fukk with him in life but it doesn’t mean their not sad he’s no longer alive.

Your only friends in the industry are the homies u enter the game with and even those motherfukkers you have to watch because that new attention u get your own homies can become fake..

Everything is business nothing more

It’s different when PnB Rocked and Rich Homie Quan reached out to these individuals and were ignored.

The people you’re referring to if they reached out and you ignored them when they were alive. Why go on social media for clout?

You have a point, but it depends on the circumstances. This man was likely a drug addict. I could have valid reasons i dont like you around, that dont mean i didnt care about you. I may have cared about you more than your enablers. Again,I dont know if this was his exact situation. Cant just assume everybody is just clout chasing.

There was no mental of “like you around” “didn’t care about you” - you’re making assumptions and literally assuming. Completely irrelevant…analyzing as-is.

These individuals explicitly said they reached out and we’re ignored.

PnB Rock isn’t a drug addict.

Well arent you and akademiks assuming the people showing love are the ones RHQ was saying ignored him?

Im only saying there are good reasons to ignore people you care about.

Akademiks is a fukknikka so nothing he says is of any value.

And people don't have to feature him in their music to be sad that he died :gucci:

Its like a child's view version of the music industry

This “calling out fake love” when rappers doe thing is getting old now. We know dead rappers get better promotion, just let it happen. You just have to hope that Quan or any of these other rappers benefit from the blown up streams and other “fake love” that these rappers get. I’ve seen so many Quan fans all of a sudden and that’s fine. I’m from
Georgia and knew a lot of folks that liked him :yeshrug:
He made popular music that was well-received during a lit of people's youthes - i wasn't following him currently, but his music was one of the sounds of my college years.

What level of fan is one required to be to feel bad about an artist dying?
