Duck and weave.

The article uses raw numbers airbnb compiled and presented to the local government. Airbnb keeps peoples roofs over their heads as well. You don't get it clearly.
What do you want to regulate? I feel like you're just throwing words around.

There should be a limit on how many months you can consecutively rent out your space. I'm sure there are other methods to curb abuse but I don't get paid for that.

That's not what airbnb is. For a lot of people a week or two a month is the difference between being able to live where they are and having to move away or lose their homes.

Stop lying man.

Why would I lie? Neighbors across the hall had a new "vacationer" every single week for half the year. I don't think that should be acceptable, at least not in a city that has serious affordable housing issues. In a city where that isn't an issue then I'm all for unregulated AirBnB.

Why should it not be acceptable? How does this effect affordable housing? Enlighten me. How much was your rent a month, where in the city were you located?

Should the same apply to someone who owns their home or apartment?

My landlord wanted 500 dollars per month more than my last lease. I left to head down South. Most people who lived in Manhattan are moving to Brooklyn spots like Bed Stuy and Williamsburg. Foreign money is pushing transplants out and consequently locals even further out. Go to TLR there is a thread on NYC gentrification that has TONS of articles on this very subject.
