I'm gonna wait till it gets ripped. Sounds like this movie is exactly like Drive in the sense that the commercial makes it seem much more action packed than it really is.

It's a proper throwback to the hard edged, slow burn crime films of the 70s. People complaining about the pace need to sit the fukk down and stick on Transformers or take some meds for ADD.
Only complaint would be the recession theme is a bit too on the nose. It's a nice idea but it feels like they're shoving the theme down your throat with the endless Bush and Obama speeches.
You could also say it's a little too straight forward, but that's the appeal for me. It's very nuts and bolts........in a good way. Dominik understand what makes a crime film work and he pulls it off effortlessly.
And Ray Liotta took one of the harshest beatdowns I've seen in a film
And I thought Gandolfini stole the show. Best he's been since playing Tony. He even resurrected his dressing gown swag
Well the book it is based off of(Cogan's Trade) takes place during the recession in the 70's and that was a huge theme of the book so it makes sense...
It's very slow, dialogue heavy and set in a world where people dont listen to music, they listen to political speeches. If that doesn't put you off you will enjoy it. There are some really great things here visually. The scene. Where the two druggies are talking to each other during their respective trip hangovers is dope.
Didn't really like Pitt's performance and that awkward accent he was coming in and out of...
Any time he and Richard Jenkins were having a conversation the movie was
Gandolfini was pretty great though....and god damn Johnny Sack got fat as fukk
But overall, the movie was interesting but essentially forgettable. Too many bizarre choices from Dominik and too many wholly uninteresting dialog scenes...
Overall, I enjoyed the film, though I agree with @HHR that the pacing was a little uneven. For me it wasn't the Pitt/Jenkins scenes, it was every time Gandolfini was on screen. His whole character just seemed unnecessary. Just felt like the movie ground to a halt every time he was on screen, though he did have a couple funny moments.
The killing scenes, especially the Liotta one and the last line were all though.
