It's not only the mask. The portrayal of this character is bland. He's supposed to be a villain, but his good. He doesn't know what he want's to be. Vader has a cool voice and aura. Doom isn't even in the same category.
Bounty hunters never got much screen time in the star wars saga anyway.

The slow burn isn't for everybody.
I'll just say this. Youtube Watchmen comic and try and read. The show will make way more sense.At first I thought the helmet on thing was going to flop, but the bit where he almost left baby yoda, and I won't spoil the rest, but that showed emotion. I can see his affection even with the helmet on. After that I wasn't worried about it, the directors/writers know what they're doing.
I like this series way better than watchmen. I have no idea wtf is going on in the series and I'm 5 eps in.Visually, it's nice and I like the randomness, but eventually they have to cue me in on wtf is going on? I've never watched the movie nor the comics, and many people haven't, they need to put some back stories in there somewhere, this should have been done much better after ep 3. In the final battles.... though I get they are meant to be grueling.... I really don’t need my hero ending the climatic fight in a movie unmasked or with his masked all fukked up.
And I hate shyt like when they go around a corner, in an alley, on top of a roof or etc the first thing they do is take their mask off.
Hell I hate (while we on this) in like robbery movies whether a house or a bank, the moment the crooks get inside and secure the place they take their mask off?
Like who does that?
I heard the direction was CBS-level. i'll eventually judge for myself, but its not even on my radar right now.
